Talk About The Common Modern Nib

Fountain pen nib is what controls the ink flow.  The smoothness of the pen’s nib makes it an easier writing experience.  For handwriting they come as extra fine, fine, and medium.  If your handwriting is small? Extra fine and fine nibs are great for small precise detailed writing because it leaves white space in your letters.

Is your handwriting large?  Medium nibs are more suited for larger penmanship because the ink can close in on the white space.

The most common type of nib is rigid with a round tip to create uniform lines to maintain consistency in writing which are great for everyday use.  Steel the type of material used for the modern fountain pens.

Which hand do you write with?  Did you know that if you write with your right hand you pull the nib of the pen across the paper.  If you write with your left hand you push the nib of the pen across the paper.  The left-handed nib is similar to the right-handed nib. They are smooth, round, but ground at angle for left-hand accommodation.
